Sunday Crochet: August 3

Sunday Crochet August 3
Hello everyone and welcome to Sunday Crochet!  It’s hard to believe that August is already upon us and Christmas is about 4 ½ months away. That tells me that I better get busy and start crocheting those gifts before it’s too late.

My trouble is crocheting a scarf or blanket in the middle of summer when it’s 85 degrees outside.  However, we (Helen, Sheila, and I) came up with a great gift idea that is quick, easy, and very useful… a Potholder.

You can’t have to many of these hanging around the kitchen.  We found a great pattern from Yarnspirations website that is simple

Etsy Treasury by Working Artists Team 1
Good Morning! Working Artists Promotion Team on Etsy, was started by my good friends Debbie and her husband John from Thunder Rose Leather.  With over 500 members listing, creating, and selling… they find the time to help one another promote!  That’s what this team is about (hint the team name… lol) PROMOTING!

One way members can promote one another is creating an Etsy Treasury. I did a search yesterday and there are more than 1600 fabulous Working Artists Team Treasuries on Etsy.  Nice work everyone! Which brings me to this post… from time to time I will post a Treasury Collection for you my teammates… Enjoy and here we go…

Wire Wrapping Journey 9

Hello Everyone!  What have I been up to lately regarding my Wire Wrapping Journey?  I’m so glad you asked… Not much!  And for those of you that know me… you know that statement is not true at all!  Busy times keep me out of trouble (and from doing housework…. YUCK!)

I’m still working on the ear cuffs. The cuff in the picture is called a TripleFold Ear Cuff.  Very similar to the ear cuff I used in the tutorial, with the exception of one more bend, making it a triple instead of a double.

I am very excited about these ear cuffs and I have a couple listed in my shop for the double ones called Twofold Ear Cuffs in 8 different colors.  Although, I doubt very much I’ll make any of the Triple-folds in colored wire. I’ll use gold plated, silver filled and copper wire, unless of course someone has a request for one in color. LOL  Customer Service is #1!

I do have a question for you.  I have searched the web for simple ear cuff tutorials and I have only found a few… Do you know of a cool website I can check out? If you do, please leave the link in the comment section below.  Thanks!

Well my friends, that does it for me today… off to create.  Well, actually I need to start the wash, and change the bedding… Housework is…. a good thing! LOL  See you next time!  Cari

Crochet Baby Bunny Hat

Good morning friends… How do you like my crochet baby bunny hat?  I think it turned out pretty good.

Where did I find the pattern?  Repeat Crafter Me written by a very hard working mother of three, who (in her spare time) enjoys crafting, crockpoting, and of course crocheting!

Sarah is the creative mind who writes patterns and tutorials which she shares on her blog FREE and this hat is one of many crochet patterns you will find on her blog. Click here for the pattern > Crochet Bunny Hat Pattern

Sarah wrote the pattern to accommodate all sizes from newborn to adult! Hmmm…. Now that would

Simple Single Crochet Throw Rug

Good morning friends! A few weeks ago I mentioned to my crochet buddy Helen, I was going to crochet a throw rug for my bedroom. I searched for a rug pattern but I couldn’t find anything I liked, so I decided to wing it and not use a pattern.

I began March 6 and finished by a couple days later Well, almost finished… attaching the tassels and I’m all finished! Of course I had to finish before Sunday afternoon so I could show Helen.  I think the rug turned out pretty good. However, it is a tad to small for the bedroom, so it will be useful in my kitchen.

Wire Wrapping Journey 7

made using Shealynns tutorial
Happy New Year!  Onward and upward in 2014 with my journey in wire wrapping, with a very interesting idea I came up with on Thanksgiving day.

I noticed my Aunt wearing an ear cuff when she arrived for Thanksgiving dinner. The cuff was small and simple, yet noticeable.  Of course the wheels started turning and throughout dinner I was designing cuffs in my head.

Then it hit me (like a v-eight) I could make a few ear cuffs for gifts, in different styles and colors.

Wire Wrapping Journey 6

New Wire Wrapped Bracelet Necklace Autumn for MomHello my friends… In my last post Wire Wrapping Journey 5, I spoke about creating a special wire wrapped bracelet for my Aunt to wear on stage, which turned out to be a hit. The dazzling crystals could be seen for miles around… LOL

OK maybe not miles, but you could certainly see the bracelet twinkle as she moved around the stage. Needless to say my Aunt was thrilled!

Now to make a wrap around for my Mother, using gold wire instead of silver… just like the photo you see to the left… lol

Wire Wrapping Journey 5

Crystal link bracelet handmade with Swarovski crystalsHey Everyone… Last week my Aunt saw my latest creation, you rememberthe crystal wrap around bracelet, which I spoke about in my Wire Wrapping Journey 4 post.

When she saw the bracelet she absolutely adored it. In fact she loved it so much she asked me to design one for her, but she wants me to use black and AB crystals only… And she would like it to wrap around three times instead of two times.

Furthermore, I did mention I would share the finished product with everyone… Didn’t I?  Yeah I did! Well, it’s finished…and here it is!

Wire Wrapping Journey 4

Items needed to make a crystal link bracelet
Hey Everyone!  Have you been wondering what I’ve been up to lately?  Well, I’ve been busy creating and I seem to have found my wire-wrapping forte.

As some of you know (from reading my previous entries about my journey) I have dabbled with earrings, link bracelets, rose bud rings, wrapping a cabochon (notice the use of a cabochon… lol), and a piece of man-made sea glass.

However, I am hooked (and not crochethooked) on the link bracelets, which I have made quite a few over the past several months.  Although, creating jewelry using sea glass was one reason I started learning this diverse technique, but knowing myself (as I do so well…lol) sea glass is in my future! I certainly can’t stop creating these awesome bracelets now… can I?
