Gypsy Braidlet Inspired by BrandiGirlBlog

Good afternoon everyone!  My good friend Brandi from BrandiGirlBlog has done it once again, inspired me with her amazing color combinations to create a Braidlet called Gypsy. This picture was created by Brandi introducing her Spring Color Trios for 2014 and I couldn’t stop thinking about designing a Braidlet from one of these trios.

Happy Saturday Everyone!

Pantone spring colors for 2014: Placid Blue, Violet Tulip, Hemlock, Paloma, Sand, Freesia, Cayenne, Celosia Orange, Dazzling Blue, and Radiant Orchid as the 2014 color of the year.

Creating Color Combinations Part XI

Hi everyone I am thrilled to welcome you to the eleventh post for Creating Color Combinations. I have created over 150 different color combinations for my Braidlets, each truly one-of-a-kind.

Occasionally I need a little help with new combinations so turn to the Color Carousel by Swarovski for inspiration. Lets give the wheel a spin and it stops on Lt. Rose.

Creating Color Combinations is BACK!

Hi Everyone!  Swarovski has added Crystal Colors to their Color Carousel, which means I’m continuing the weekly, post entitled ‘Creating Color Combinations’ from September 2011.  What is the Color Carousel? An interactive color wheel available on the Create-Your-Style website by Swarovski.

Quote from the website: “Spin out on a journey of discovery and create a whole new world of color! Rotate the upper disc (using the arrows) until your main color appears or click on a color on the color strip below to find your desired color combination.”

I clicked the Color Carousel and it stopped on Sand Opal as the main color, along with White Opal, Lt. Grey Opal, and Crystal Golden Shadow as harmonious colors.

I clicked the Color Carousel and it stopped on Blue Zircon, as the main color, along with Aquamarine, Sapphire, and Indicolote as harmonious colors.

The Swarovski Color Carousel can assist you while you are Creating Color Combinations.  The Carousel is simple to use, by clicking on a color and the wheel does all the work for you.

I clicked the Color Carousel and it stopped on Siam, as the main color, along with Ruby, Burgundy, and Garnet as harmonious colors.

The Swarovski Color Carousel is a helpful tool to assist you when you are color stumped.  The Carousel is simple to use, by clicking on a color and the wheel does all the work for you.

OK... Let’s spin the Carousel… Stopping on Palace Opal Green as the main color.  Peridot, Erinite and Fern Green are the Harmonious colors. 

Along with contrasting colors, Light Siam and Hyacinth, and Crystal Deep Brown the suggested pearl.

I decided to use the harmonious colors to make this Braidlet. Greenery Braidlet made with Swarovski Elements.

Creating Color Combinations Part II

The Swarovski Color Carousel is a helpful tool to assist you when you are color stumped.  The Carousel is simple to use, by clicking on a color and the wheel does all the work for you.

OK... Let’s spin the Carousel… Stopping on Purple Velvet as the main color.  Tanzanite, Dark Indigo and Amethyst are the Harmonious colors. Along with the contrasting colors Olivine and Light Topaz, and Crystal Dark Purple is the suggested pearl.

Creating Color Combinations

The Swarovski Color Carousel is a helpful tool to assist you when you are color stumped.  The Carousel is fun and simple to use.  Click on a main color. When the wheel stops you will see a Main color, three harmonious colors, two contrasting colors and a suggested pearl.

As you can see in the picture on the left, I choose Blue Zircon, for the main color.  Aquamarine, Sapphire and Indicolite are the Harmonious colors, along with Padparadscha and Hyacinth are the contrasting colors.The suggested pearl is Tahitian.

At first glance… the colors seemed out of place to me…

Create Your Style with Swarovski

Recently, I have added Swarovski Elements to my Braidlets collection.  Swarovski Elements are truly an amazing product. With all the different colors and effects to choose from, one’s creativity is not lost. But, sometimes (for me) I need assistance choosing the right rainbow... of color.

While I was looking around the Swarovski site, I came across “Create Your Style” website.  The site has information about the Elements, patterns, events , and a design tool. What caught my eye was the Color Carousel.
